The Department of Mathematics was formed since the inception of the institute as the subject is taught as one of the minor subject in the B.Sc. computer science course. Now it has one full time and one part time lecturer. In the year 2002 teaching in one of the Course of Applied Nature –Operation Research has been introduced for B.Sc. final year due to its wide applications. Problem sessions are conducted during tutorial classes to strengthen mathematical skills and basic concepts of the students. The faculty members, apart from active teaching are also fully engaged in teaching of biostatistics to the post graduate students of M.Sc. Biotechnology course.
